After learning about his diagnosis, many of Mike’s friends, family members, and former team members came together to create Team Ernst. Many of these friends and family members make up the Board of Directors for Team Ernst today.
Steve Ernst
Mike's Younger Brother
Mike's brother Steve, younger by 23 months, was the contant companion of Mike growing up. Steve played in the same backfield as Mike in football from "Pop Warner" league, through high school, and college.
Mike was a consummate role model & mentor to Steve.
Steve currently lives in Tampa, FL with wife Jeanine of 20 years, daughters Emma (16), Shelby Quay (14), Vivian (9)
son Philip Roy (5).
He is a Senior Managing Director at Principal of Cassidy Turley (commerical Real Estate).

Alfredo Ernst
Mike's Son
Alfredo is Mike's 23-year-old son. He graduated from the University of Tampa in 2013 with his Accounting degree. He is currently pursuing his Master's in Accounting, also from the University of Tampa.
Alfredo has worked in an auditor position at Thomas Howell Ferguson PA in Tampa, FL.
Alfredo shares his father's love of football, and while attending Clinton high school he served as defensive tackle on the Super Bowl Champions.
Tom Vetras
Friend of Mike
Tom is a long-time friend of Mike and the Ernst family. In high school, he served with Mike as a captain of the Clinton high school football team.
Tom is currently the Director of US Sales of the global MSA in The Safety Company
Mike Vetros
Friend of Mike
Mike Vetras is a long-time friend of Mike and the Ernst family.
Before retiring, Vetras served as the principal of Clinton Middle School.
Christiana Ernst
Mike's Wife
Christiana is Mike's wife of 26 years. She was born and raised in Rome, Italy, where she also met Mike. Christiana is a language expert, fluent in Italian, German, and English. She is also an accomplished chef and restauranteur.
Christiana is mother to Alfredo (23) and Federco (17), and is also a business founder and operator
Wayne Baer
Friend of Mike
Wayne is a high tech entrepreneur and business founder. He lives is Barrington, IL with his wife Rachel and two children, Max and Abby.
Wayne is a native of Clinton, MA, where he was a classmate of Mike's. He is a long-time friend, and a member of the Bare Hill gang.
Dan Vetras
Friend of Mike
Dan Vetras is a long-time friend of Mike and the Ernst family.
Dan lives San Francisco Bay Area and is President & CEO of Kontikia as well as a former teammate of Mike's.
Gerry Gaw
Mike's Cousin
Gerry is Mike's cousin.
Previously, he served as the Superintendant of Clinton, MA schools and the Principal of Clinton High School.
