Harvard Varsity Club Post on 29 September 2016:

The HVC is "Your Team for Life", and we are extremely proud and fortunate to be able to demonstrate our commitment to current and former Harvard University student-athletes through opportunities like The Michael Vollmer '90 Fund, which this weekend awarded its first-ever grant to assist Mike Ernst '83 in his battle with ALS.

Steve Ernst '84, Mike's brother and also a former Crimson football player, shared Mike and Christiana's reactions via

email,"The Harvard Varsity Club community showed profound depth and love when you visited my brother Mike. Both Mike and Christiana were completely blown away by the generosity of Team Vollmer and by the initiative of everyone involved. The funds will go a long way toward keeping Mike as comfortable as possible

Mike First Time Watching Son Play

Mike was able to go out to Assumption College to see his son Federico(11th grade) play high school football for the first time. It was a thrilling and emotional experience for not only the family but for the coaches and St. John's Prep.
